There several tourist activities that can be done in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park besides gorilla trekking. This has been done to cater for the interests of different tourists who visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Among the activities are forest walks and seeing gorillas on a forest walk is a possibility. Such activities include forest or nature walks, bird watching and batwa experience. The fact that these activities are conducted with in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, there are chances of seeing gorillas on a forest walk or birding trip. This however is not allowed and should you be caught, you will be disciplined and penalized by Uganda wildlife Authority.

Seeing gorillas on a forest walk is forbidden

In each sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park such as Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo, Uganda Wildlife Authority has designed trails to allow tourists appreciate nature in the forest by walking on these predesigned trails to see birds, other primates, butterflies, and identifying trees species with in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. That notwithstanding, some tourists book such activities with a hope of seeing gorillas in a forest walk. They also think that by doing so, they would have saved a lot of money since a forest or nature walk costs USD70 per person compared to USD600.00 per gorilla permit to trek mountain gorillas. Of course mountain gorillas are free ranging and their movements are not controlled. With improvement in communication, Uganda Wildlife Authority guides are normally in the know of where mountain gorillas are and should be able to streamline all activities in the forest.
