Looking at the three mountain gorilla countries in Africa

One of the mountain gorilla countries is Uganda. Popularly known as the Pearl of Africa, Uganda is home to over 400 mountain gorilla individuals. These mountain gorillas are in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park. Over 12 gorilla families have been habituated for gorilla trekking while others are still under habituation and can be visited by those interested in gorilla habituation experience which is a 4 hour activity at USD1500.00 per person per day. Uganda is more than gorillas when it comes to tourist attractions. The country is endowed with other attractions that include habituated chimpanzees of Kibale National park, Budongo forest, Chambura Gorge, Karinzu ecotourism site among others. In Uganda, one can also enjoy game drives and boat cruises on Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park as well as Lake Mburo National Park. For those interested in mountain hiking, Rwenzori, Elgon, Mgahinga, Muhavura and Sabinyo are all available. Visit Uganda and combine culture with wildlife view for an experience of a lifetime. Encounter Africa safaris operates in all parts of Uganda to give you the best the country has to offer

Rwanda is among the three mountain gorilla countries found in Africa. Rwanda also known as Country of a thousand hills has more than 10 habituated gorilla families located in Volcanoes National Park. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is very popular given the fact that gorilla habituation and conservations efforts started in Rwanda. With this Rwanda attracts many tourists for gorilla trekking than any other country in East Africa even when the price of gorilla permits is still high compared to Uganda and Rwanda. Those visiting Rwanda for gorilla trekking can also consider touring Nyungwe National Park for a canopy walk and chimpanzee trekking, Akagere National Park for wildlife viewing or Lake Kive for boat cruises and relaxation. The culture of Rwanda is also amazing and should be combined with Wildlife viewing

The least looked at mountain gorilla country is the Democratic Republic of Congo that has a fair share of mountain gorillas located in Virunga National Park. Mulled with wars and political instabilities DRC is the least visited country compared to Uganda and Rwanda. Encounter Africa Safaris operates tours to Uganda and Rwanda and should DRC stabilize, we will consider taking tourists for gorilla trekking in the near future
